@IndigoMizumi We definitely agree on that! I respect Waters, but I think the essence of the song is mostly lost with his new rendition of it.

@killyourfm I can't imagine the song without the solos.What also comes to mind is Steve Hackett's "Genesis Revisited" remake of Firth of Fifth by Genesis. The Genesis Revisited remake has a considerably different middle section (and also has John Wetton on lead vocals) but still keeps the original guitar solo.

@IndigoMizumi Yea, you just can't honor songs properly by completely stripping out something so integral to their identify. AND to their overall emotional impact.

@killyourfm The part that hurts the most is that I actually kinda like this electronic take, but the solos not being there kill it, he absolutely could've worked a version of them into this.

@chrishazfun There's nothing wrong with liking the new version he worked up! It's evocative and definitely establishes a certain mood. But yea, it's almost difficult to even call it the same song.

@peterharpley it's a timeless song that can apply to so many different situations. Seems like an ideal opener!(If I remember correctly, Rogers wrote the majority of music and lyrics for that song)
