       What I miss on Mastodon after being here for some time:* Support for markdown or at least a subset of it.        @kjoo to be honest, I don’t think it should go that far. What you’re describing seems closer to an instant messaging app, which is a different thing. But the support for some bits of markdown would be nice, at least for basics like bold, italic and underlined

       @ganitzsh pdf would be nice to have but sometimes I receive PDFs or documents that could be interesting to others as well.But you are right, I will have to adapt my way of how to work with Mastodon. 👍

       @kjoo @ganitzsh Never forget: #Pleroma does what Mastodon’t ;)The #Fediverse gives you freedom of choice. If one particular #ActivityPub server doesn’t support all the features you would like, maybe some other implementation does.

       @kjoo @ganitzsh just checked how Mastodon is displaying the PDF attachment. A broken thumbnail view is not the best fallback. On my instance, the alt text is used instead. The lost formatting on the Mastodon side is more acceptable.

       @shibayashi @ganitzsh the final link to the pdf is broken somehow. I guess my fallback to work across all platform will be self-hosted document storage.        @ganitzsh @kjoo interesting. I clicked on the preview in my post on your instance and it worked. Maybe the media proxy is only acting on authenticated users and then it fails because it is not a picture.
