       Not sure I understand why anybody would use the Local feed on a mastodon server; why would I want to read a timeline of semi-random people? That is why I curate who I follow in the first place. It's just replacing The Algorithm™ with The Server™ for throwing random shit at you.

       @seldo I think the original intent may have been that a community would form around each instance, which clearly isn’t how the mass exodus from Twitter ended up working

       @seldo If you are on a community-focused instance it some sense and it can be a good way to find people to follow. The large instances are going to have a much more diverse/random local feed.
