@untitaker @ariadne I guess if the system works as it should, mass-blocking should probably deprecated in favour of defederating.

@brecht [removing ariadne]I was trying to bring the old tools back because I don't want to host my own instance but still sort of want to control moderation of my timeline.Like, I already had a problem where I disagreed with moderation decisions but stayed on a server because its infra is operated better. "who manages your data" and "who manages your social network" are two different questions of trust imo

@brecht and tbh I feel like there is a large gap in user-wielded moderation tooling. while it does seem that the most effective moderation can only be done by instance admins and on a domain level, I feel like we're relying on that small group too much. And self-hosting, idk.
