@Prosirer A lot of people go out of their way to misunderstand others for one reason or another, especially now when so many people are complicit in feeding into society's current cycle of divisiveness. But still at that point, it's not your problem. You never want to let haters put a chip on your shoulder or keep you from doing you.

@teebeebirb This is right, the only problem is dealing with the constant aloneness largely due to others wanting to remain unconscious about reality and my inner growth setting me apart. I snuff it by keeping a good writing workload and computer projects, but sometimes I just wonder if there's life that can tune into my vibe so to speak.

@Prosirer if you have good things going on that you're pursuing, you gotta stay visible, online and IRL, even if it gets annoying dealing with people you don't feel compatible with sometimes.This is coming from someone who's either very shy about sharing their work or who unintentionally intimidates people by being so intense about projects. I've accepted that I come off as an oddball to most people but I feel good whenever someone approaches/contacts me who realizes what I'm about. ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ It helps motivate me to come out of my shell and find a niche somewhere.

@teebeebirb Kudos for having the strength to come out of your shell and share what you enjoy doing. It does help a lot to have people that are interested, and the amount of people that can accept how weird we are is higher than whatever the mind is coming up with. Yeah, there's several things like the high-fantasy/sci-fi novel (link is in profile but I don't actively promote it because it's not done) and then there's a homebrewed divination system that I'm very shy about getting out there because of how powerful it is. As a writer, there's a scare of people potentially stealing my work for themselves, but also not wanting to release half-finished products, and I just grow slowly (autism). And for some reason, promoting my work feels like begging people for their attention and I don't like begging. I'll have to get over that, somehow.

@Prosirer in regards to your writing, I'd err on the side of practicing good opsec and protecting your IP but you can still do stuff like publish writing samples or submit short work to zines. :D And yea, I like to be low-key so the prospect of promoting myself as a working artist feels like trying to sell a car to someone who doesn't need one (really doing myself a disservice putting it that way 🤪) buuut I gotta do it so I can grow professionally and eventually get my foot in the door.
