Whaaaat! So apparently you are obligated to download 2 apps if you're at the WC in #Qatar.. One for COVID and one for the WC itself. And the apps are reportedly to track phone calls, apps installed and more data :amaze: Seriously holy shit. Even privacy watchdogs advise to 'install the apps on a seperate phone' :nkoFacepalm: #FuckQatar

@stux I don't get why sports orgs insist on granting events to oppressive regimes. Same with China and Russia. Every visitor needs to go with burner gear and encrypt the hell out of whatever they do. It's insane. I'm not sure #FIFA gets how badly this #WorldCup is going to go. My kids (grown) played soccer competitively up through HS. It was their life (by choice) World Cups are BIG events for our family. They're all like #FuckQatar might watch the US and a few others but that's it. 🤷♂️
