       How about Throwback Thursday?In 1998 SDF ran Slackware Linux until late 1999 when we got our first DEC AlphaServers to run NetBSD.  The Linux servers were part of a short lived hosting deal made with a Hong Kong based import company operating in Dallas that wanted to start a CyberCafe with SDF as the center piece.        trivia: The tall tower host name was 'sdf-1' and the shorter was 'sdf-2'.  sdf-2 was used for SDF Radio (now called aNONradio) and later had a second life as TRANCELL, an internet to SMS gateway.The two Alpha Servers were 'sdf' and 'otaku', both of which still exist to this day on newer hardware.

       @SDF I used to admin/program the Dec Alphas - they were (and I still think are) very interesting platforms. I remember us having a GS80 which had a hot-swappable CPU capability and one of the CPUs went bad and was swapped out "live" - something I found fascinating at the time :)
