@te_taipo it’s embedded now. Even in the Media. It’s a real threat to Democracy.

@AnneleiseHall @CarolynStirling @te_taipo I was posting recently about the concept of an 'ecology of ideas' as an upgrade on the 'marketplace of ideas' metaphor. If mis/disinfo are invasive species, what makes an information habitat more vulnerable to them? How might we restore and strengthen our information ecologies to resist their incursions?

“Another factor making MPs less accessible to the public is the increased level of threats they and their families face. As February's protest showed, there's a very vocal group of citizens who are calling quite openly for MPs to be executed.”

@strypey @AnneleiseHall @CarolynStirling @te_taipo a lack of timely information - people will make up their own to fill the blanks. So being proactive about releasing information, and especially around decision making, is critical.

@CarolynStirling @strypey @te_taipo Strypey I think it’s an interesting way to think of it. Banana passion fruit has killed two of my trees because I didn’t know how invasive it was. Vigilance, pulling out every single seedling, cutting any missed climbers to starve them at the top and deal to the root is all that works.
