Just called the cops on y neighbours for the thousand time this year since they're playing the music sooo loud again at 2 in the night..The lady on the phone even asked: "do you just want to file another report of should they also go by?" :nkoFacepalm:I've tried communicating with her so many times but I gave up and now I call the cops if she's playing music mega loud at night so we can build up a case and get her kicked out (we and many other neighbours) but it seems to take forever

@stux I don't know about NL, but here in the US I especially hate doing this because the police are such a blunt instrument for this type of thing. But we don't really have a different system available. 😢

And I did hear a *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* a little while ago so they went by. 🚓 And it was quiet for about 20 min I think until they started up again😠And well, me being me I yelled though the walls: "And now it's done! @stux Getting people evicted always takes time unfortunately. We had a nightmare neighbor who was abusive and threatening to me and others. I had motorbike set on fire, another had something corrosive poured on their car, another had slashed tyres, another had their car window put through and more. It still took a couple of years to get rid of them.

@stux I had this problem when I lived on the beach with very loud neighbors playing music all night. I got revenge by playing loud music with all speakers pointing at them at 6am. They eventually figured it out the game I was playing and stopped.

@stux Sounds like a street "musician" who blasts his music on a street corner in a busy commercial area of San Diego and won't stop. He flipped me the bird! Every business within two blocks has complained so I can relate.

@stux I felt sorry for you, I've similar experience myself as well.But I also felt this is the classic case where police is utilising technology effectively. This is not headline story material, but ffs it's still part of their jobs and I'm sure this happens more often than burglary and impacts more people.

@stux I know your pain. It's especially hard when all you're trying to do is assert your needs (ie., sleep!) and wish others would be more mindful. I have had to call the police (who sent a social worker/negotiator) about my neighbor (loud music, dog left outside barking for hours). It's unfortunate that people don't seem to understand that their rights end where others' rights begin. May your issue be peacefully resolved.

@stux that is not ok. So sorry. I guess you are following all the necessary steps: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/leefbaarheid/vraag-en-antwoord/wat-moet-ik-doen-bij-burenoverlast. If you rent, please also sent a written complaint to the landlord each time. Nothing fancy. Just short discription of facts and asking (demand) them to intervene. It also helps your case when you go to court. It does take time. Good luck and maybe buy good earplugs?
