       Anybody else blocking journa.host on the domain level? Just discovered they're connecting to k*w* f*r*s tools and I just can't tolerate that. Debating if I should drop the domain-level block or not.Your opinion @jonah ?

       @alexhammy209 @jonah Wouldn't it be more reasonable to block entire groups of people based on what they actually do and not just what they might link to?I mean, if you really want to take the whole Fediverse concept seriously.I know it's definitely not socially acceptable to suggest we judge people based on their actions around here.

       @jonah Is it acceptable in the sense of "you can do it?" Sure.Is it acceptable in the sense of "we want to be the core mechanism for global open communication?" That's a lot less justifiable.I've seen more discussion of cutting off entire servers from the Fediverse in the last week than I have since Mastodon developers were outraged Gab would use their technology.It's just the usual Mastodon hypocrisy, I suppose.

       @LexTenebris I meant why wouldn’t it be acceptable to suggest banning people based on their actions 🤔 Although that being said, this is the reason the federation moderation tools exist, so I also don’t really see what the problem is with defederating people.        @jonah In this case, it's not the action of saying something objectionable but simply linking to a tool hosted by someone found objectionable. Which is frankly just stupid as a reason.I trust the admin of the server I'm on. The problem is that they are also at the whim of a bunch of other admins that have quite a lot of control over the Fediverse topology.Which is one of the great vulnerability is of the design which no one wants to admit.
