       @nafiul they could be modified as they please, yes. I think the limits are hard-coded and require some source code tweaks.Video is challenging since Mastodon copies all external media, so hundreds of Mastodon servers downloading your 40mb video at once costs a HUGE spike in bandwidth.Most other implementations just proxy on demand or even embed directly from the source.

       @lamp that makes a lot of sense, because these are community owned servers, you can’t really have a ridiculous amount of bandwidth due to cost.
