Thank you everyone for being here! Since late Friday we've been running the instance across a cluster of machines to improve load balancing and throughput.This has given us breathing room and has substantially improved the experience for us all.But what about the next wave in the twitter exodus? @SDF Twitter refugee with 6700 followers there. I’ve been trying out a few servers (I’ll never think of “instances” as anything but what you get when you construct a Python or C++ class) and this seems like it’s “the one.” Nice and fast, and I’d like to play with the retro UNIX stuff on the sdf.org page sometime, too.Whoever it will be will get some modest $ support, too. That seems important for an environment like this.

@SteveHeist 21 second video is of our array of shell servers which have been installed for several years now. If you connect to tty.sdf.org you land on one of these machines. There are two machines in each 1U w/ 8 cores and 16GB of ram. We'll have more pictures and video of the new servers very soon.

@SDF Well, dang, I didn't stop to think about how this instance in particular is probably being pounded by the twitter explosion. Now I feel like my return is a bit unfair.I'm broke from overspending at my last vacation, but I'll try to make a donation next month.
