Yes, yes, I know about all other alternatives but I keep coming back to #Emby for my easy (not pirate at all) media streaming :ablobcatbox: Even on Firefox it supports the Chromecast without Google complaining https://emby.media

@stux I use Jellyfin as well! It’s awesome. I switched from Emby to Jellyfin.

@stux @jasperbuma I'm currently using Jellyfin. What do you think it's better on Emby?

@stux I keep an eye on Jellyfin, but I just can't be bothered to move away from Plex. It does what I need it to and I got a lifetime license several years ago.

@luisgoncalves @jasperbuma I think the better support for streaming to TV :blobcatgiggle: But a while ago also for TV channels itself :blobcatgiggle: We wanted to replace our expensive tv subscription with a somewhat uh... cheaper one! đź’ˇ

@stux well Jellyfin was giving me less problems working with Kodi. It’s open source, free and has no paid options. I always like open source projects, I feel people invested in something they’re willing to spend their own time on create wonderful things. Sometimes better then things that are focussed on money.

@stux Just checked them out and my NoScript alerted me that they use pushwhoosh. That's too shady for me atm:https://www.theregister.com/2022/11/15/russia_pushwoosh_us_army/

@stux @jasperbuma I use my computer as TV, but I might give it a try. I need to retire my Subsonic instance, and Jellyfin's audio capabilities are a bit lacking.

@stux yea it's really good. If you use an apple tv using it with the infuse app is an amazing experience specially if you rip your blurays

@stux Jellyfin is definitely better for me but emby is good as well.

@stux Jellyfin™ is better :kirbyroll: no matter what anyone would say about it! I get accurate metadata for almost all my legally obtained media. Emby's been really bad lately it used to be good but not anymore
