I am currently creating NES pixel art and chiptune for a collaboration with Bite The Chili Productions under the working title: Project Sword. The game is well into development now and features a heavy influence from Sunsoft's Batman (89) and Ninja Gaiden dressed in a fantasy theme. #gamedev #chiptune #pixelart #nesdev #nes

@Raftronaut It's funny, I was just mentioning the NES Batman (89) to someone the other day as one of the few NES games I couldn't beat for the life of me! LOL

@Raftronaut Nice, love the hand drawn pixel art style. Doing retro development is pretty cool. Some of my favorite games are old adventure games and their graphics have withstood time better than many others.

@stolteclan I don't blame you! As "research" for this project I focused and completed it, but only after maybe a dozen attempts. Feels like there is a fair amount of random events that need to swing in your favor to defeat Joker... BUT WOW, finishing that one felt gooood :)

@aviancer There is something to be said about how well old pixel graphics have held up over time. I've spent a lot of time recreating screens from the OG Kings Quest trying to discover my own technique. Something about the mosaic effect you get with pixels is really attractive to me :)

@Raftronaut that’s nifty! I can imagine that being a good source for inspiration having ~recently streamed through the entire Kings Quest series sans the last one. It’s been a journey seeing how they’ve developed along the way. Dithering for the win ^^
