@ghostprototype It looks, to me at least, as very retro. Maybe I’ve gotten used to the way websites look now, but it is rather busy looking. I'd put more emphasis on the hierarchy in the page or maybe create sections or tabbed sections?

@Chronic-Yonic I learned html in 1999 so I guess it makes sense that it looks retro lmaoBut good feedback! I'm thinking maybe I should make the main page more of an intro/explanation of what the website is, and if I want to do a monthly ezine just add that as a separate page

@ghostprototype Thanks!Yes exactly. I read somewhere that now, on the Internet, a human has about 3 seconds to figure if they are interested in continuing reading or not. I think that if the page is too busy, a lot of folks might not bother. Our attention span has been changed by the Internet.

@ghostprototype I like it! I actually love retro-looking websites. I don’t know if it’s part of my orneriness or if I just hate the way tech is now, but I get very excited when I see a site that looks like sites looked in the late 1990s.I love all the links and the various sections, particularly the Dating and Relationships section.I don’t see a way to be notified of site updates or receive news. I think that would be extremely good to add, because with the fast pace of the Internet now days, and so much time spent on social media where things are just fed to us, we are likely to forget to go back and check on sites.

@Cousin_Isobel I'm glad to hear the outdated feel is at least appealing to the nostalgia factor! I also want to keep it simple for accessibility purposesThat's a really good point about notifications and reminding people to check back somehow. I want to keep my site as simple and unobtrusive as possible. I was thinking of creating other social media accounts to promote it (I already have an instagram) Mailing lists were the way back in the day, I don't know if people would still be into that or if it would just be lost in the spam

@ghostprototype I don’t know, either. People seem to love subscribing to Substacks, though. Radical and GC feminists are pretty dedicated, in general; stopping the erasure of our entire sex class is something women tend to feel strongly about after they’ve thought it through. I’d put my name on a mailing list.The other way to do it, as you say, would be to put out reminders on Spinster, Instagram, and possibly other places when you have new content.
