       @reality2cast Thanks @katherined @dsearls for defending Mastodon a bit there.Regarding the design decision to not allow direct quote+comment of other posts, a decision motivated by the desire to reduce bullying and such, @shawnp0wers said that was a "strange hill to die on" or something. I don't think so, and if @shawnp0wers has not seen such bullying himself then perhaps he could listen to those who have experienced that.1/2@kyle

       @reality2cast As I see it, if a design decision like that can improve discussion climate even a little bit, then that's a good thing, and perhaps a perfectly fine choice of a hill to die on.If many people stay away from public discussions for fear of being bullied, then that is a serious threat to a democratic society and efforts to mitigate that deserve respect, in my opinion.2/2@katherined @dsearls @shawnp0wers @kyle

       @reality2cast @katherined @dsearls @shawnp0wers @kyle When you said it's not so easy to insert the relme code in WordPress; is that if you run WP as a service with someone else as admin? Or also if you set up the WP site with the WP sw? I do not use WP, but I use the alternative Joomla, installed and configured myself, and there it is not so strange to insert code, and I would assume it would be similar in a real WP installation. ?
