@thatbrickster@shitposter.club Yeah, she's not "far-right", but she did publish a highly controversial opinion piece in the Guardian that included literally all of the TERF dogwhistles which got her fired, so I understand that LGBT instances might feel intimidated by her. But blocking 17k users because of a single one being amongst them seems out of proportion to me.

@SuperDicq She's a feminist too, making me doubt it even further. I agree blocking an entire instance because they platform a single individual is overkill, but that's just cancel culture at work.

@quon it is typically quite goodin my experience admin'ing you otherwise run into complacency and instances getting defederated for vague or even outright untrue reasons.I think your users have to place a very high level of trust in you and offloading that trust to other admins is a risky move.i'm very fortunate in that I think my users arent too worried that i'll start removing people they like and I try to run things by them so that they're cool with my choices. I think its worked well for me and my users are happy (aside from when i break the server)
