@lain They had to man the government portals and isolate the teams so there be less security risk when obeying conflicting state actors. You can't have one team manning the FBI's and the CIA's portals. And certainly not one team manning the MI6 and Saudi Arabia.

@Ricotta @lain I'd very much like to see what they put on their resume vs what they actually did. I've previously come across workers with absolutely rock star credentials, but you get them on assignments and they can't do anything worth a shit. Usually turns out they were a third wheel and just soaked up credit from adjacent teams.

@ocean @lain a lot of these microservices and bloat aspects were likely random pet projects from twitter employees that either nobody said no to, or said yes because they have to look like they're doing real work

@RustyCrab @lain 90% of the work is done by the top 10% of employees in a given department.More importantly, experience never implies competence. Doing something for 30 years doesn't mean someone is actually good at that thing. Merely that they stuck with it.
