really wish there were an API for Apple's Translate. I keep getting requests for a builtin translate function in Tusker and I would love to support it, but it's currently not possible

@gudenau oh, there are a bunch of other translation services, but i want something that doesn't involve mucking about with network requests and api keys. a platform-native one built by apple would be vastly simpler to integrate

@Sanguish there's a menu item that pops up when you select text, which is what I've been suggesting, but both have the discoverability issue. what I'd really like to do is just stick a big Translate button in there that shows the apple translate sheet with whatever text I pass it

@phpmacher I don't intend to integrate with another translation service directly, but I will (at some point) use it via mastodon's api on instances that have it setup
