There are fediverse search engines to find instances based on description or name.Most exist because they have different Terms Of Service, or general function. Why I decided against equestria.socialI just started posting on pone.social and people started showing up, was kinda fun actually.

@TwilySparky @Shredd_Tone Federation is kinda weird and does not pick up on everything. Would have to search for people on different servers, copy their address, and follow them (I've done that for a few people I found interesting, but couldn't get hardly any of their posts in local federation)I think there are things a server can do to more closely follow another server across federated timeline, but I've never set up any software that uses activityhub.

@TwilySparky there are likely a ton of people still on the fence/hopeful about birdsite, plus still trying to work this place out (new places are always a bit intimidating, even when that do work the same as others you are used to). a fair number setting up here "just in case"I suspect as that crumbles more, and as people get more comfortable here, the activity will likely pick up.also some may be wondering if this place is ONLY for pony posting, or if its for anything, just by pony people.
