@ActionRetro when I found a reliable method to install, I was sure to document it (as I know my memory)

@ActionRetro heh - we truly have all sorts of folks over here on Mastodon 😀 Back in the mid-90s, I was a young test engineer at Apple operations in Cork, Ireland, and this was one of the first programs I “owned”. I was responsible for a large chunk of manufacturing test. Still at Apple - my 26 anniversary was yesterday. Im a senior manager in Hardware Test these days, based in Cupertino.

@cooties I can't believe you came across my humble example of a TAM here 😂I have one nagging question that perhaps you might know the answer to, if it's not top secret - when and why did the speaker fabric change from dark to light?

@ActionRetroThe same level of frustration seems to be happening for me with a GNOME Box of Haiku R1 Beta 4, manually updated from Beta 3 (Beta 4 ISO not available yet, but following the B2->B3 update instructions works for B3->B4… for a reboot or two). The more things change…

@ActionRetro HaikuPorts make it more *NIX-y under the hood, but its GUI is still cooking with plenty of Gassée!

@ActionRetro @juanejot I have ran Haiku on actual hardware before… both my Pentium 3 laptop from 2001 and my HP Compaq nx7400 from 2006…. The latter worked but was overkill for sure, being a CoreDuo.
