       It looks like a trickle of TERFs are coming in on larger UK servers that are not yet blocking them, presumably for legal reasons. Raising hashtag #TERFblock for visibility so folks can block them.        @caffeneko It sounds less legal reasons to me (which could be major in that it could lead to severe repercussions to instance owners if hosted in the country where such laws could apply), and more a mild conservative take that "everyone should get a chance and a platform to speak" even if the people given a platform use to it spread hate and confusion which leads to all minorities affected being threatened and leaving, which leads to having only the oppressors remaining.There have been cases of this with instancec hosting police, nazis, etc. And everytime it backfires (obviously, in retrospect) and there are "debates" about who gets a right to live or simply have basic rights granted or denied, etc.

       @caffeneko So yeah, suspending the whole sounds the way to go if that's their way of handling hate speech and hateful individuals. It's been a proven multiple times already on fedi, and it's not even a "what if they behave" and more a "how much hate will the mods tolerate and how fast minorities harmed by these individuals will leave without a word because of the threat the dangerous people allowed to stay pose". Individual blocking is not even remotely effective if the moderation of the instance is to "open dialogue with fascists". Never turned out good in history, never.
