       Hello, #mastodon !By way of #introduction I am by academic training a historical linguist specializing in Indo-European studies, with occasional side trips into various language families of North America. Professionally, I have been a systems programmer ("sysadmin", in modern parlance) on IBM and DEC mainframes for more than 40 years, with computer experience back to 1969; based on that, I was the original curator for Living Computers: Museum + Labs (founded by the late Paul Allen) in Seattle.
