       @estebanmoro I still don't see that a lot has changed for me on mastodon. Sure, many of my Twitter peers have created accounts in the Fedeverse. But they don't actually use them. So the number of accounts isn't a meaningful metric. Maybe the number of postings would be.

       @johannes @estebanmoro It's really social network specific, huh? My world (palaeontology) went from practically nothing, to hundreds of active people in a couple of weeks. Activity is up more than accounts.

       @john @estebanmoro That's great. I'm in the NGO world (specifically those working for human rights of indigenous peoples) and it seems that nobody has moved over. Maybe it is easier in academia, where outreach is less of a concern.

       @johannes @estebanmoro Yeah, that's frustrating. I think you're not wrong about academics, but at least half of the move here in my world was artists, who definitely care about reach, so it's not the entire explanation. I think maybe there's a sort of tipping point, which is easier to reach for smaller communities?
