@Ricardus I didn't want to be one of those guys like Rudy who colored his hair with shoe polish, trying (and failing) to look young. But I was curious to see how my white hairs would take a color. Surprisingly well...but I also found out gray hair is resistant to semi-permanent dyes. So it only lasts a few weeks. I might get some permanent color next time. I dig purple.

@Ricardus I think it's just the way the photo turned out. It's a deep purple, and fades to highlights over the course of a few weeks.
