       @gme I manually changed the URL for https and the site broke "unable to connect". So httpseverywhere wouldn't do much here.

       I believe HTTPSEverywhere would try HTTPS/443 and if unsuccessful could be configured to revert back to HTTP/80 (albeit with a warning).Again though, not my site so there’s really nothing I can do about either.

       They do.But when you copy the address bar from your browser, and it’s already an HTTP URI, and then paste it into a new post window, the URI that gets pasted is http://… ;-)
