Oh my god, I just discovered that when you put 2 MacBooks next to each other you can use the TouchPad & Magic Mouse on both like an extended screen with zer0 configuration! :amaze: Damn Apple, well done.I remember this was hell on my Windows working laptop a while ago and now it's automatic without even asking for it :macos:

@stux I must have missed when this was announced because the first time it happened I thought, "okay. either i'm losing my mind or this is a new feature" ... "phew! it's a new feature!"

@stux I only meant it's *possible*, I don't use it either. π My iPad is for casual reading and watching movies, etc. I never use it with a mouse. But, it *is* possible.

@stux I use a project called #Synergy that does that across #Windows, #Linux, #macOS, and even #FreeBSD. But it's nice that it's built in and seamless on macOS. Once you get used to sharing the mouse/keyboard/clipboard across multiple computers it's hard to go back to the old ways.

@stux meanwhile, my Windows laptop disables the trackpad if I plug an external keyboard in. Not an external mouse mind you. An external /keyboard/.

@stux gotta give Apple credit for these tiny considerations when thinking about the user experience. It may be a walled garden at times, but itβs a damn good one.

@stux That's why I have one π: I bring it on vacation for the occasional movie and photo edit. And yes I have a git client, and blink.sh with a codespace on it so I can do some emergency stuff. But if I bring my laptop I'll just nerd away the whole vacation. I got some complaints...@sander

@sander @stux i outfitted my 12.9β ipad with keyboard + trackpad and stopped carrying the macbook pro as a result. unfortunately stupid work databases inaccessible via cut-down mobile browsers so still need to lug the full machine occasionally.
