Does anyone know of a simple, all-in-one solution for recording OTA television broadcasts from an antenna and playing them back on a television? My godfather is not very technical and is looking for a way to record the local news to watch later. Normally I would recommend the Fire TV Recast, which I use myself, but Amazon apparently discontinued it this year.

@blueteamgoon have we really come full circle to needing to reinvent VCRs already? Or are you looking for a OTA TiVo?

@feld @blueteamgoon nontechnical though, which was why I was joking about reinventing VCRs. Last I saw HDHomeRun needed a lot of setup & configuration

@xabean @feld @blueteamgoon for just straight HDHomerun all you gotta plug it in and channel scan. Its the record part thats a bit more complicated.

@tevruden @blueteamgoon @xabean I think you just need to plug in USB storage and you're good to go now? You can just select stuff to record and it works?
