       Humm, I see people that are writing longer threads, but my Mastodon instance seems to be limited at 500.Is there some magical configuration I need to fix in order to get this working, or do I have to manually change code?

       @robert Mastodon is just one set of software running on the tech. There’s also Pleroma, MissKey, and a few others that I forget the name of. Some of them have different character limits, but someone on Mastodon can follow someone on Pleroma and vice versa.

       @matt Right, thanks! I recall seeing someone mention that their _Mastodon_ instance could post a gazillion characters. Maybe they messed up terminology. I'll find my magnifying glass, archeology whip, and go adventuring. 🕵🏻
