I know a lot of people don't care about cryptocurrency, but the FTX situation is fascinating regardless. A $38bn company just vaporized overnight. It's the cryptocurrency equivalent of waking up to find out Bank of America has just vanished.

@malwaretech The CEO's trading firm, Alameda Research, had a 2018 pitch deck that said they can provide *high returns with no downside*, and that they *haven't had a losing week in 6 months*.Consistent ~6% returns every month, during the 2018 bear market.

@Penelope @malwaretech Not to mention it's driven by software, full of vulnerabilities just waiting to be exploited. Imagine buying a bond or a GIC that has a 1:5 chance of just disappearing. Dabbled in crypto last year. Never again.
