@BrodieOnLinux I use a cronjob that sends my /home to my NAS every 3 hours which then the NAS every 12 hours sends to my back NAS, which once every 24 hours sends my critical data offsite to a remote encrypted borg repository in Sweden, which also has it's own backup.#GetOnMyLevel

@BrodieOnLinux So far I've dealt with this problem by having a separate drive _just_ for large binary data files like video. BTRFS with a subvolume for each category. Probably not perfect but at the moment it's all re-downloadable if it comes to that. Will take this warning to enable backups.

@BrodieOnLinux Normal people: oh no, data lossYoutubers: aarrgh but woo, bonus video idea, and a cautionary tale too.Great video, including the parts about:* not just needing enough space to hold your data, but the benefit of having a spare drive around to have room to shuffle things around when you can't just pick up a new one same day* the knock on effects on your pending workloads

@BrodieOnLinux do you know what the best backup tool is? I tried timeshift, pika and a bunch others and I can't find a good one, akin to windows system image disk.
