@Tutanota @bitwarden @openstreetmap @fdroidorg I bought a #Google #Pixel specifically because it's ironically the best phone to #degoogled ! Definitely recommend #CalyxOS or #GrapheneOS to help you lean off Google Play Services and let you trust your phone again.It makes me very grateful that apps like yours have their own push services running and work without play services.

@zaioszaios To degoogle your phone means to run an alternate Android OS instead of the stock OS. Google has lots of proprietary stuff that most apps rely on and it makes living life without Google much harder. Android is mostly open-source, but Google treats itself as a special exception in many situations, and of course any competitors do not have this luxury. It is not a fair playing field.

@ZeoZ Yeah that's what I use as well. I hope CalyxOS supports Graphene's sandboxed google play. microG is awesome, but misses a lot of featuresI try to get all my apps from fdroid though. My main profile is all FOSS, and work profile is my Google play proprietary crap and services.

@shipp was lucky I don't need it for work, it just took a while to convert people who want to contact me to Xmpp... but now i just use f droid for any app that I use on mobile
