Even here we know all about the army corruption and the chronic overestimating of their own capability.But Solovyov doesn’t dare to put blame on Russian politicians, who failed to give new goals after the initial 3 turned out to be unattainable or nonsense.

@useless_idiot @maxpowers1 That is very true, they won't mention Putin or even Sergei Shoygu.Shoygu, serving as Defense minister with an income of $100k a year, is able to somehow own a 19,000m2 house worth more than $20 million!With such leadership, is there any wonder theft is rampant in the Russian military? With tiny salaries, the temptation for anyone with access to resalable equipment or fuel must be overwhelming. Punishment for theft seems nonexistent!

His job is to appeal to the audience of middle-aged Russian men who can then repeat his arguments at home, while knowing what are the safe boundaries of criticism these days. Imo it would be lame if he would show up in the war discussion again. But since the war is quite unpopular among his friends, it’s quite likely none of them wants to take the position of war leader. So the Russian campaign might get even more undirected. Which would be good AND bad.
