All three of the QAnonish, election-denier Republicans running for secretary of state in AZ, MI & NV—who I wrote about in this article—have been declared losers. Still, it's amazing they all drew support in the 40-percent range. The wingnut base is big.https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2022/11/top-gop-secretary-of-state-candidates-hobnob-with-extreme-conspiracy-theorists/

@DavidCorn One of the things I tried to emphasize for my Intro to American Politics students this semester was that in addition to rampant election denialism up and down the ballots across the US, but they really needed to focus on the importance of Secretary of State candidates. Far too often, they fly under the radar. (Was glad to have donated to the AZ SOS candidate.)

@mirandayaver McConnell was one step ahead - managed to help unqualified Cameron take AG and another R SoS in 2020. Democrats had held both offices, the Governorship, and at least one branch of the state government for most of the century before. Sadly, media didn't know much about KY state government and reported as shock that we elected a Democrat as Governor.
