       So I've been thinking of running my own Mastodon instance for myself, and maybe direct family, but the biggest thing giving me pause is the email api requirement.  The docs recommend things like mailgun.  I'm not gonna pay $35/ month for something I won't use.  Does anyone have any recommendations?What do other smaller folks do?No, I'm not going to set up my own email server.Is there a way to have it just email to the root of the server or anything?

       @ozoned mailgun and the like have free plans based on the number of emails you send per month. So if it's only for few people, it would probably either free or very cheap.

       @Admin @ozoned will probably not work in most places as ISP block the normal mailing ports for spam

       @boilingsteam mailgun says free up to x amount and then also says after 30 days you're moved to the $35/month plan.

       @ozoned there is not just mailgun there are many other providers. Like sendblue if i remember correctly
