@indy As not-a-DO-customer, can I ask what that costs?

@pwinn I'm just playing around it with so haven't gone down deep enought to cost it up for production... but the instance I took is USD 14 per month (2 CPU, 60GB SSD). I suspect in production one would look at a 8 CPU, 120 GB SSD + storage (Amazon S3) + Mailserver costs... So I'd say about USD 75 to run a fairly decent server. But these are numbers I'm just pulling out for this response. Requires more thought. For example, does one need high-availability!

@indy @pwinn The pricing here is a good guide, remembering that these prices include a contribution towards the admin costs of running the hosting service on top of the upstream costs of the instance itself:https://masto.host/pricing/There's a lot more detail on the nuts and bolts of how they run the service and come up with their prices:https://masto.host/blog/
