Happy Veteran's Day. I did not fight for your freedom. I did not secure safety for anyone from enemies foreign and domestic. The military had me and my fellow GIs doing things completely unrelated to security for you and your families. What a joke, at least I get a discount at restaurants or whatever.

@AntonChigurh @SuperLutheran I give it alot of shit, but I leveraged everything they had to boost me up. 75% paycheck contribution to the stock plan they had for first 2 years, then reduce to 25% for remaining. Then pre-9/11 GI for 3 years and 1 extra year switch over to Montgomery since I paid into the booster, lasted all the way into Q2 of my masters. Now... I went in when NOTHING was going on, so I wouldn't really recommend going in now that theres a very real possibility you'll get up close and personal with some pissed off slavs, not to mention the faggy mindset they have now.

@Marshall1Banana @SuperLutheran I ended up with a really good civilian career that wouldn’t have happened without serving in the army. I also ended up getting around $80k of educational benefits, which was pretty good considering the GI Bill when I signed my contract was only about $33,000. I made a good decision at the time, but like you said I wouldn’t recommend anyone else go for it unless they don’t have any other viable options. I seriously considering going back into the Guard/Reserve as a medical officer, but after J6 and the botched Afghanistan withdrawal decided I didn’t want anything to do with it ever again.

@AntonChigurh @SuperLutheran I got some questions about that Afghan withdrawal and the actual mission. If you check what's going on, theres alot of Taliban activity on Uzbekistan boarder diverting some attention from Russian Army, with claims of significant gains. Did US take the embarrassment of failure of withdraw as excuse to fully arm Taliban (terrorist org) with latest US weapons, or is it all just "coincidence" w/ Antony Blinkin setting things in place?

(Company commander had about a million in cash in our safe for bribes/contracts/etc.) If this kind of thing is something a conventional army E-4 knows about then I can guarantee it’s happening at a lot higher levels of government as well.

(Trained Muj in the 80s then went over to Pakistan to do “humanitarian work after their big earthquake and look for you know who). This guy was absolutely convinced that Bin Laden had undergone a renal transplant that was arranged by the ISI.

@LouisConde @MemeLandfill @Marshall1Banana @SuperLutheran I never went to Afghanistan so I don’t have any firsthand knowledge, but one SF memoir I read (Lions of Kandahar iirc) described how they were absolutely kicking the shit out of a Taliban unit when a bunch of Russian-built helicopters arrived and whisked the Taliban leaders off the battlefield. The author didn’t speculate about the source of the helicopters but Pakistan makes the most sense.

They're essentially hostile, but formally severing ties would be even worse than for ZOG to tread water and keep what remaining influence they have.
