@boilingsteam I want a headset, but I'd only use it for racing or flying games. And I don't game enough to justify the expense anyway.

@boilingsteam I used to be a huge fan of it, but the current state of things depresses me.

@boilingsteam VR is cool, but they are for the 'happy few' because: 1) you need to be able to afford them, which not everyone can do (both the hardware and the relatively expensive games).2) It assumes that people have full physical abilities when it comes to seeing/hearing/moving.Especially the latter is the main reason why I would never get a VR-set myself. I happen to have an eye condition which makes it hard for me to see properly with both eyes. That breaks immersion. So not for me.

@boilingsteam VR is nice an fun. But also it is quite expensive, in means of hardware and space required to move freely. So it is not for everyone (yet). But I think it is quite impressive what is possible today. @Corben78 for example streams Skyrim VR (on Linux!) and After the Fall VT three times a week at the moment, and it looks amazing. https://twitch.tv/corben78

@boilingsteam VR is really fun but not a replacement for regular flat screen gaming. It's an addition, sometimes I want to play one and sometimes the other.

@boilingsteam I feel like VR has a bright future along laser tag and escape games as an activity you go to a designated place to play for a few hours. Not only you don't have to buy equipment, but you can play in a room big enough so you can actually walk around. At home on the other hand, it will probably stay niche.

@boilingsteam I think, it's already on the way out. The novelty has mostly worn off and few people will invest so much money, especially with the economy tanking. The plans of Facebook are also putting many techies off, who are still basically the only target group. This all means that developing AAA games for VR isn't going to pay off. It feels like we're already seeing fewer VR releases.

@boilingsteam I was really excited by the concept of VR years ago but now I doubt i'll get into it any time soon. No good options exist with any good level of privacy or security. The games are gimmicky at best it seems. The native Linux support is anemic. I just can't get excited for it on any level.

@boilingsteam I would say its still too early to say. I am already liking where VR gaming is at now. But I want full dive gear.
