Thread:Just spitballing here....So, like many others, I've been racking my mind trying to understand President Trump's seemingly nonsensical series of attacks against the man who is indisputably the most effective, energizing and reliably conservative governor we've seen in years.It doesn't take a master strategist to point out that it doesn't seem to help Trump's image or stature with the base....

While plenty of committed Trump loyalists are riding with him and even turning against the governor thanks to his rally comment and Truth Social posts, plenty more are turned off by this and even driven away from him as a returning candidate - especially, it seems, Gen Xers, Millennials, hard right wingers and right-leaning libertarians (along with MSM establishment types who nobody trusts anyway).

I don't think Trump's doing this out of fear that DeSantis would beat him in a primary fight, as many contend. Trump is confident in his own campaigning ability, has a presidential record (and a stolen election) to point to, and has the resources to take on anyone. He should win a challenge, especially from someone who's like a 95% ideological match, a 90% personality match and who hails from the same state. So why would he do it?

What if in the course of his investigation, Ladapo discovered not only did the manufacturers know ahead of widespread release that their products cause myocarditis, infertility, miscarriage, paralysis and death, but Trump knew as well?Imagine if the public found out that Trump was aware of these horrifying risks, but made the calculated political decision to move forward with Operation Warp Speed anyway?...

This would mean literally putting hundreds of millions at risk in order to score a political and economic victory ahead of an election - an election which was stolen anyway, despite Trump's recent boasts that he knew how to use the power of the Executive to prevent stolen elections, and that he did so for DeSantis in 2018.If Ladapo found something like this out, he'd surely go to his governor with that information. What if Trump found out - or even if he suspected it?...

@waronmorons I’m of the opinion that Trump has much more information than we do. I’m not jumping on the hastily coordinated anti-Trump train just yet. I respect DeSantis for his phenomenal job in governing Florida. But I really don’t know much about the man, about his affiliations during his tonsure in DC. Was he an associate of Ryan and other RINOs? I also respect Trump. Something deep is happening.

@CoraMunro @waronmorons Agreed, and it may be kayfabe, as both DeSantis and Youngkin have been approached by Establishment GOP players trying to nullify Trump by any means possible. Trump is a strategist--I think there is more at play here than we can know. It certainly IS flushing a bunch of RINOs to the surface, and outing some interesting people as being on board with this DS plot. I think Operation Warp Speed was more than just the shots--the shots were already patented from years before!

@CoraMunro there's a hasty, anti-Trump train (engineered by the losers at the RNC and MSM), but there are also lots of solidly conservative Trump voters who have questions and concerns - and have for some time now.His refusal to stop pushing the shots above all is extremely hard to just ignore, especially when you or in my case loved ones have been directly impacted by them.He went out there with Bill O'Reilly of all people and encouraged his supporters to get boosted - a year into them. 😟

@CoraMunro there was a big difference between how he handled it vs 95% of the other leaders.He made them available swiftly at first, but never mandated them and shut down anyone in-state who tried. Then he installed an honest surgeon general who thoroughly investigated the shots' efficacy and safety.As the information came out, Florida was increasingly vocal in not recommending them.Meanwhile the president never stopped endorsing them and even floated using the military to distribute them.

@CoraMunro not to say I think either is a perfect candidate.Ideally, I'd prefer DeSantis to stay put and keep FL thriving, secure and a great example to other Republican and purple states. I'd love Trump to return to office, but the shots issue gives me pause (as does the friendly fire, which I really hope proves to have been strategic in some way).

@waronmorons I understand your point. It’s just not that hill I’ll die on. DeSantis appears to be cooperating with Mitch, Ryan, media, Deep State to take out Trump. And Winsome Sears is on board too. After Trump’s endorsements and help. I see DeSantis now as easily molded and loyal to RINOs. Trump is financially independent and can’t be bought. Team Trump all the way.
