@kirt On Twitter and other commercial social media, they have a software algorithm to recommend who to follow. Mastodon doesn't have such an algorithm, so it relies on people recommending other people to follow. The algorithm is in people's heads!

@john ah manual recommending with words and stuff, not just the "people you follow also follow" automated algorithm.
