It's pretty well established that the vikings settled in what is now maritime Canada, but some people found some runes and believe that Ragnar rocked all the way up to Oklahoma!https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20221030-the-mysterious-viking-runes-found-in-a-landlocked-us-state

@praxeology There are some interesting details around the death of Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame. A number of historians believe he was "suicided", and a section of his journal was stolen. Some believe he documented Viking runes and construction somewhere in South Dakota which would have had a legal impact on the land claims the U.S. was making.

@sokian @praxeology Pshaw. You dig. And that one is nothing. If you want a real mind blower, look into the ancient copper mines of Michigan. And where an estimated 1.5 billion (yes, billion with a b) pounds of extracted copper disappeared to. Thats enough to fuel something like a Bronze age dont you think? "New World" Ha!

"Indian legends tell the mining was done by fair-haired “marine men”. ".... Oh my are these Germanic tribes? One of my greatest wishes of all time is a time machine, I want to go and see how everything played out.

@sokian @praxeology No one knows for sure, but there are some remnants of stone tablets with what looks like Canaanite writing. And also a Canaanite sacrificial altar on the southern tip of Florida. The speculation is that they sailed through the Pillars of Hercules, across the Sea of Atlantis (Atlantic Ocean), to Florida where they would stop, sacrifice, resupply, and then sail up the Mississippi river to the copper mines. But that is pure speculation and lacks enough evidence to make it solid. The only sure thing is that what passes as modern history is largely revisionism by the Darwinist, colonial British Empire. There are some "truths", but the big picture is just flat out wrong. At least, that is my personal opinion.

@sokian @praxeology That is interesting. Especially the giant angle. It lends itself to the Canaanite hypothesis. When the decedents of Eber, (the Hebrews) invaded Canaan, they described some of the Canaanites as being giants.
