@pry Maybe this is a bad take, but I enjoyed Verilog well enough. it seems more C-like to me than anything else.

@BitBun hmm I've heard a lot of people prefer VHDL to Verilog. I should try verilog tho... have any resources you would recommend?

@pry honestly my recommendation would be to ignore at the fancy research HDLs to begin with, learn with VHDL or Verilog first (and if you wanna get a job in the field its 90% Verilog anyway)

@pry This is why I said "maybe this is a bad take". VHDL versus Verilog is a holy war I want no part in. I personally found Verilog easier to understand, but I still want to give VHDL another try in the future. As for resources, I actually don't know what to recommend there. How I learned it felt pretty ad-hoc making simple things and deploying them to FPGAs.

@pry eehh not many good ones personally, I kinda learned VHDL through Uni and then just transferred that knowledge over to Verilog ( I think I did like a Linkedin Learning course or something briefly ) there is no shortage of Verilog materials out there, maybe see what you can access through your Uni too

@pry @BitBun I've heard there's more jobs about for Verilog, and it is a little bit more readable in my opinion. Other than that though, I unfortunately don't have a great wealth of experience in either
