After 14 years there's still that sense dread + anxiety when I open #Twitter.In fact it's worse now. Because every time I mention Mastodon or start answering questions about it, the toxic assholes show up with their name-calling + hate.It's like they're sitting, waiting for someone to mention Mastodon, and pouncing. Feels different there now. Like it's being overrun. Even w/ 24K followers, I have no desire to keep going back. Grateful for #Mastodon and for all of you.

@killyourfm Having a similar vibe. Also wondering if the twitter algorithm is promoting this kind of stuff to my twitter feed because it senses I am looking at those posts slightly longer or whatever...that damn algorithm is trying to get a reaction. I do not like that.

@killyourfm I left when Gaming on Linux posted something weird Musk did. Don't even remember what anymore. Little did I know, that in a short few days the site would be borderline unusable. Thankful for Liam and the rest of the people pushing Mastodon on there. It's a proper heaven here. :)

@killyourfm Hahaha oh yeah I love it. I'm already addicted tbh. XDLots of great artists/game devs/writers/musicians and even politics people that I would never find on Twitter. And there is like MINIMAL confrontation. Everyone is just enjoying the calm vibes.I always believed in open source but seeing it come to life on such a scale has convinced me there is no other way.

@killyourfm @homophony yeah if you go check out the “social dilemma” it’s a documentary about a bunch of people that have worked on the social media platforms discussing what they did for the platform and how these codes that they write were originally intended and how they’ve been misused to create negativity online. It shocked me.

@killyourfm I joined Twitter back at the beginning, as a way to connect with friends and community. I loved it.I left it about 6 years ago because it was depressing and anxiety inducing.I'm now here as a way to connect with friends and community again. I'm very thankful this exists.
