Small website update: comments and forum posts from users that have embedded media (like screenshots etc), now have a privacy box users need to accept to see it. Just like our YouTube video privacy box.Felt like a good idea for further user privacy.

@gamingonlinux why not just host them on peertube and embed it if you want privacy, as all embed YouTube videos come with 3 tracking elements

User comments media and YouTube videos in articles, are pretty much the only external stuff we have and now both are under privacy boxes. No adverts, no trackers, no junk.

@gamingonlinux @tilvids how much views do embed videos give YouTube from your website?

@gamingonlinux @jacobgonzales20 Yeah, I obviously *really* want TILvids (and #PeerTube) to succeed, but it can't do that if creators immediately lose their revenue stream that they rely on. For many creators, the right move is simply to run their YouTube channel, set up auto-sync on their PeerTube instance, and slowly start building a presence at both places.Monetization will eventually come to PeerTube if enough viewers use it. That's a whole different problem to figure out at some point.

@tilvids @gamingonlinux @jacobgonzales20 I don't know if it is possible but I think at least you could add a donate button beside the subscribe button. Being able to have a revenue stream is really important. I don't think it really can wait.

@shellkr @gamingonlinux @jacobgonzales20 Creators can do that currently. If they go to their channel page, they can add a "support" section that will cause a support button to appear at the bottom of the video player, which will open a window showing information/links for how to support them.
