       @selea yesterday was a glorious night on Twitter... There is nothing like a big trainwreck in slow motion... Some verified Jesus and someone was tweeting free insulin from a fake pharma acc making them backtrack that and look awefull in the aftermath... much more... It was a free for all banmatch with all of them just refunding their 8$ for banned accs... Elon really didn't think this through

       @selea, except that Freenode used to be run by volunteers while bird site has been a tool of mass surveillance for years?  The acquisition can make it worse, but I’m baffled how people are acting as if Elon is ruining something pure and precious.

       @selea, it seemed so, but Freenode was benefiting the community until then, unlike Twitter has been (and still is) working for surveillance capitalism.  Although I am glad that the acquisition made many people finally leave bird site, I don’t feel it is worth any mourning at all.
