@graf Thanks! But I already have wireless earbuds, along with headphonesLooking for wired earbuds to fill up the other case scenarioHeadsets are nice at home, but not everyday, ends up hurting my head and I initially stopped using them for a while because my eczema around the ears was insane and this was making it worse!Wireless earbuds are great. But batteries. So ideal for working out, going outside or chilling in bed or playing VNs on the DeckWired earbuds would be preferable for the switch (built in bluetooth adapter sucks) and wearing it here and there to avoid overusing the headphones

@coolboymew sorry I read "earbuds" and assumedthe AKG wired usbc ones that used to come with samsung phones are pretty much the best I could suggest for that. I don't like earbuds and those are the only ones I've used besides the klipsch bluetooth ones, sorry!

@graf No issues, that's probably what most people would assumeEver since I discovered plugging earplugs on my GBA waaaay back then, I prefer doing everything with audio going directly to my ears. And since I'm at at screen 24/7, that basically mean wearing one of the 3 types all the times tooUnfortunately USB-C is not ideal for my setup that already expect a 3.5mm jackYou see, I can use it on switch, deck, phone and PC and sound systemBasically, from my PC, I have 2 layers of audio extension connected. 1 that goes into a jack to the PC, 1 that lengthen the cable, and the the headset, or earbuds. Why? I can use it on the sofa, it's long enough. Then, I can disconnect it from the first cable on PC without having to play with the jack behind, and then connect it to the TV audio system for video games (PC is also connected to the TV, but I don't need the sound system for this). And finally, I can just unplug 'em from the extension to plug into the deck, switch, phone at homeSo yeah, I need a 3.5mm jack

@coolboymew Skull Candy ear buds? I usually fund them for under $10 at Ross/TJ Max/this local overstock store I frequent. If you need it a good USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is pretty inexpensive. Just make sure it's not some no-name Chicomm cheap shit.

@brimshae I once bought a skullcandy headset from groupies and I was immensely insulted as the apparent "150$ price tag" had the audio quality of a 1$ dollar store earbuds. Ain't even kidding

@coolboymew I am quite fond of the Koss Porta Pro. They've been in production since the 80s and can be found relatively cheap (in the 50$-90$ range depending on where). On the plus side, their sound quality is better than their price and age lets on. They're super light, extremely comfortable with third party ear pads/cups, and pretty portable for on-ears headphones. On the negative side, they are made of cheap feeling materials (the plastic will remind you of cheap 80s and 90s toys), they are open back (no noise isolation; this can also be a plus if you need to be aware of your surroundings) and the headband just isn't pleasant for people with long/fluffy hair.

@coolboymew @guizzy I've been using these for about a decade, flat enough response, good selection of rubber bits and convenient cable length, clip, and case. https://www.swamp.net.au/in-ear-monitoring-headphones

@coolboymew @guizzy interchangeable with my semi-open studio cans, though with way better outside isolation of course.

@coolboymew @guizzy yeah for sure. Good chance it's one of those regional rebrand things though that might have some other reseller for other regions, white label manufacturing etc.

@shpuld @coolboymew It hasn't been a problem for me, but yeah, there's definitely some heads with which these headphones are not compatible. Mitsu could not wear these without pulling a fistful of hair when taking them off. Since these hail from the dawn of personal music listening it's understandable that the better unobtrusive adjustable headbands designs of today weren't really figured out yet, but unfortunately by now this specific headband shape and operation is an essential part of the iconic look, so they can't really fix it without losing the retro appeal.

@shpuld @guizzy I absolutely fucked the cable, so I had to buy another pair, but goddamn I'm mad at Sony. Absolute piece of shit brand as far as I'm concerned
