I heard about a surgery center in florida that'll do whatever you need, but you have to pay up front in cash. No insurance, no payment plans.It's probably still overpriced but at least you know you're only paying for your own operation, not some kind of "socially equitable" redistribution.

@Eiregoat @MelGibsonafter4Beers I don't know if it's related, but something I heard about popping up recently is medical concierge services. Where you pay a set rate directly to a doctor every month rather than maintaining insurance and basically can use the doc as you see fit.Though as I understand it that was primarily for primary care and some smaller specialties rather than surgery.

I've heard about people doing that for real, albeit on the texan border. There's a bunch of clinics with murican staff that cross the border every day. The upside is that drugs are waaaaaay cheaper because there isn't the same IP tax to jewish pharma corps.There's a similar thing in the EU. You can fly to CZ or Hungary to get most stuff done at half or a third of the price, usually by western european specialists who fly ing.I know a friend who got a mouthfull of dentistry done over there. I considered it for LASIK, it was like a third the price.

They have those here too. It's usually organised as a clinic, so you pay a fixed rate for GP, dental and some basic things like xrays and casts on broken bones.

It used to be the norm too, they were organised through sorta trade unions (fraternal societies). You'd pay a day's wage per year and for that you and your family got to see a doctor once a month when he turned up to the fraternity hall.
