       You might not know this, but there's a #fediverse alternative to YouTube as well, #peertube!It's super neat- you can subscribe right to video feeds from Mastodon. For example, I post my videos @veronicaexplains_channel. Subscribing to that "account" will let you know the instant my videos go live on Peertube!Of course, I usually also cross-post the videos here on Mastodon too. But it's kinda neat the way it all works!

       @tilvids @tamitha @vkc I'm not sure what @Chocobozzz is referring to just from that thread... are we expecting to have a way to follow channels from masto without the server accepting federation requests?It looks to me like the server is just set not to accept federation, in the settings. (Attached a screenshot from diode zone just for reference)

       @scanlime @tamitha @vkc @Chocobozzz tilvids is not set to federate, so that is correct. However, you should still be able to subscribe to individual channels and follow them via Mastodon, PeerTube, etc. and I think that's where there might currently be a bug.So if you're trying to follow a channel, that might be what's happening. If you're trying to federate with the entire instance, that is currently not something we have enabled.
