       Anybody know what this #tool is? I found it in a #woodworking kit, but it was next to some very long #sewing needles, and it looks to me like it might be some kind of #weaving or #FiberArts thing.

       @polyplacophora It looks like a stick shuttle to me, except normally both ends are closer to what you see in that picture on the right. I haven't personally seen a stick shuttle with the left side like that, however I could see how that would be useful for a narrow shed when weaving.

       Alright, consensus is it's a netmaking shuttle! Given it's from Maine, my guess is it was used to make fishing nets. I thought it looked like a shuttle, but I'd never seen one quite like this before and all I know about weaving is what I get through osmosis being friends with folks who weave. Too cool though!
