       It's amazing to me just how much discussion there is around CW. I would not have thought this particularly controversial. Maybe it's a sign I've been here long enough not to think about it that much.

       @sullybiker it's sadly something we mods can never be allowed to forget about & just assimilate, bc we know that with every new influx, there will be those people who refuse to use it, even on instances that explicitly state they must use it or else go to another instance, kthxbai.And sure, we may wield the banhammer if needed, but we'd rather not & be at peace, if fedi allows... 🤷🏻‍♂️ *sigh*Know what I mean? :_catsad:

       @eloisa I remember being aware of a feeling that people overused it, especially back in the beginning; in the way the presence of a tool ends to lead to be being used whether it is correct for the job or not. But it costs nothing, really, and like a lot of practices one may not understand why it is used.

       @eloisa A simple example is the rule about politics, people saying I WON"T CW THOSE BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT but not recognising that the mere sight of some of these things causes irritation and anxiety and we're not fucking here for that.
